About the Role:
GSR is seeking a Research Supervisor to lead the firm's Reputation Risk Index and oversee the firm's media monitoring services. This role is central to how GSR and its clients stay ahead of the curve on breaking news, emerging trends, and evolving reputational risks. The Research Supervisor will guide the quarterly production of the Index, oversee daily research operations, and support junior team members in delivering thoughtful, high-quality analysis. Working closely with senior advisors and members of the Global Risk Advisory Council, you'll help ensure that GSR's insights remain sharp, relevant, and trusted by senior leaders navigating complex global issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Guide and support junior team members in daily research, media monitoring, and analytical tasks.
- Provide mentorship, feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and skill-building.
- Ensure team workflows and outputs meet the firm's standards for accuracy, insight, and timeliness.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performing team culture that encourages continuous learning.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the quarterly development and production of the Reputation Risk Index, including research, drafting, and coordination with design and communications teams.
- Oversee daily media monitoring for the firm and its clients, tracking coverage, identifying emerging issues, and providing timely summaries and briefings to internal teams and clients.
- Analyze and categorize media trends using standardized methods, refining processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal experts and external advisors to identify emerging risks, refine methodology, and ensure relevance of findings.
- Manage engagement with members of the Global Risk Advisory Council, including outreach, briefings, surveys, and onboarding of new members.
- Draft and edit high-quality content, including risk summaries, key findings, case examples, and Council quotes, for reports, press releases, and social media.
- Support development of public-facing materials that communicate Index findings to media, public affairs executives, and corporate leaders.
- Coordinate webinars, panel discussions, and media outreach tied to Index launches.
- Maintain project timelines and ensure timely delivery of research, content, and communications across teams.
- Monitor feedback and analytics to inform improvements to the Index and Council engagement strategy.
- Stay informed on current affairs, geopolitical trends, and reputational challenges globally.
- Develop and implement research and communications strategies that align with clients' business goals.
- Assist in developing high-level firm-wide communication strategies.
- Implement processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness in client research deliverables.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including media analysis and trend tracking.
- Strong ability to synthesize large datasets and distill key insights into accessible, executive-ready formats.
- Proven success managing or contributing to recurring thought leadership products and data-driven reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for external audiences, including media, executives, and other high-level stakeholders.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, particularly with executive-level advisors, former government officials, or C-suite leaders of the Global Risk Advisory Council.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams or working groups, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met across all workflows.
- Comfortable representing the firm in professional settings and contributing to the visibility and influence of the Reputation Risk Index through webinars, briefings, and social media.
- Strategic thinker with a global perspective and an understanding of reputational risk, public affairs, and geopolitical issues.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media Production, Strategic Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research, public affairs, or risk analysis with 2-3 years of experience in client management.
- Background in media monitoring, public opinion analysis, or trend tracking is highly preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of strategic advisory and client relationship management at a senior level.

Work Location:
The position is full-time and hybrid (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are in-office days; Wednesdays and Fridays are virtual/remote).
