Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage department at The Garden Grille & Bar within The Hilton Garden Inn. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service, maintaining inventory control, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food service management, with experience in various dining environments. This position is paid Form 1099.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage department to ensure smooth functioning.
- Manage staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to maintain optimal supply.
- Implement effective cost control measures and assist in budgeting processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure quality food preparation and presentation.
- Utilize POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) for efficient order processing and cash handling.
- Develop training programs for staff to enhance their skills in food handling, cooking, and customer service.
- Supervise shift management to ensure operational efficiency during peak hours.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and culinary techniques.
- Strong knowledge of quick service & fast food restaurant operations as well as fine dining experiences.
- Proficiency in inventory control and management practices.
- Experience with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS).
- Background in hospitality management with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Effective leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training & development.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes within the food industry.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience in restaurant management, including supervising kitchen operations and banquet services.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. This role is essential for ensuring that our guests receive outstanding service while maintaining operational efficiency within the food & beverage department.
