Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional food presentation and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and culinary techniques, with a focus on delivering outstanding dining experiences. Experience in fine dining, menu planning, and food safety is highly valued. Duties
- Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and development for various dining occasions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage
- Ensure all food safety regulations are followed diligently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs for supplies or ingredients
- Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
Experience
- Proven experience in a restaurant or culinary environment, preferably in fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and cooking methods
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Background in food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for quality control and customer service
- Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of catering services and food service operations is advantageous
