What You'll Do

  • Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions within our IOP program (mental health, co-occurring, substance use disorders)
  • Conduct individual therapy, assessments, and treatment planning as needed
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (case management, psychiatry, peer support, etc.) to coordinate care
  • Ensure documentation meets Medicaid / behavioral health policy standards
  • Participate in supervision and quality improvement initiatives
  • Potentially assist in training new clinicians, program development, and expansion efforts

Required Qualifications & Compliance (Medicaid / State Standards)

To be eligible to provide behavioral health services reimbursable by New Mexico Medicaid, the therapist must meet the applicable licensing / supervision requirements and operate under a Medicaid-approved provider/facility. New Mexico Health Care Authority+2Legal Information Institute+2

  • Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral health field
  • Must hold a valid NM license or credential in the appropriate category (e.g. Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under supervision, or equivalent)
  • If providing therapy for mental health diagnoses under Medicaid, supervision must be provided by an independently licensed practitioner if the therapist's scope does not allow independent practice. Legal Information Institute+1
  • Must adhere to New Mexico's behavioral health policy and billing manual for Medicaid services.
  • Facility and clinician must be enrolled and approved under New Mexico's Medicaid provider enrollment processes before submitting claims. New Mexico Health Care Authority+1
  • Maintain compliance with licensure renewal, continuing education, and supervision as required by the NM Counseling & Therapy Practice Board. NMRLD+1

Desired / Preferred:

  • CCSS (Certified Clinical Supervisor / equivalent supervisory certification) is a plus
  • Previous experience providing IOP, group therapy, or working within Medicaid / managed care behavioral health settings
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring treatment modalities
  • Strong documentation skills, adherence to compliance standards, and ability to maintain quality metrics
