Presbyterian Medical Group seeks an LCSW or LPCC Behavioral Health Emergency Department Clinicial Liaison to join our established Psychiatry Emergency Services Team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.   

Dedicated to improving the health of our community, Behavioral Health at Presbyterian offers treatment for lasting recovery from substance abuse, behavioral health conditions and psychiatric emergencies.  Our full-service program supports adults, children and adolescents, and includes inpatient services, a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, emergency and consultative services and behavioral medicine services embedded in primary care. 

Responsibilities

SummaryProvides psychiatric screening assessments for Emergency Department patients and via telemedicine. This includes but is not limited to risk assessment and referral to appropriate level of care, and assessment to determine need for inpatient detoxification.  Job duties include communication with all parties including ED provider and nursing staff, charge nurse, on-call psychiatrist, unit staff, collateral sources, registration department and insurance authorization personnel as needed to ensure patients are provided a timely, comprehensive assessment and a safe disposition

ResponsibilitiesPerforms the psychotherapeutic process for each patient assigned, including assessment, diagnosis (when Masters prepared), planning care, intervention (including counseling patients/significant others in crisis, making referrals), and evaluation (including identifying unmet needs or new nursing for therapy or medical services).
