Become an API Security Sales Specialist
As an API Security Sales Specialist, you will be afforded a flexibility not often seen in sales. You will help shape a region, target accounts, and contribute to the go-to-market strategy. In this role, you will be a sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.

As a Senior Security Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the full-cycle process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, Proof of concept (PoC), negotiation and close.
  • Being accountable for your sales target and overachieving on that sales target.
  • Building customer relationships and qualifying opportunities such that the sales forecast is accurate.
  • Working strategically with a Sales Engineer and ensuring their time is used to drive opportunities to closure.

Do What You Love
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in cybersecurity, API Security, API Gateway, and Cloud Service Providers.
  • Have demonstrated ability to close new customer acquisition.
  • Have experience in channel first sales motions.
  • Have knowledge of one of the following: API Security, Application Security, SecOps, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, related fields.
  • Display history of consistently exceeding individual sales goals and targets.
  • Have experience with technology sales into enterprise and/or commercial accounts, understanding of how to navigate complex organizations.

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $189,800 - $394,200/year; a candidate's OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
