Childcare Center Director

Job Overview:
The Childcare Center Director is responsible for the daily operations of Victory Early Learning Center, a ministry of Victory Church in Oregon City. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for young children; manages teaching staff; develops curricula in coordination with teachers; communicates with parents; and upholds the center's reputation in the community. The Daycare Director manages day-to-day operations, sustains a positive learning environment for children, oversees coordination with the Oregon Learning Education Division, ensures that the facility is well maintained, and manages the center's financial affairs.
In addition, the Director works closely with the Lead Pastor of Victory Church to ensure that the daycare reflects the mission, values, and faith-based culture of the church. A key responsibility of the Director is to drive enrollment growth through proactive marketing, parent engagement, and community visibility efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children that reflects Christian values.
- Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with all state laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Manage, support, and encourage teaching staff; promote their professional and spiritual development.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies, legal requirements, and align with the church's values.
- Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards, procedures, and faith-based best practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children and the center's policies; model a warm, Christ-centered approach in all interactions.
- Manage and oversee the budget to ensure the center remains financially healthy.
- Partner with Victory Church leadership to align the center's practices with the church's mission and outreach.
- Lead marketing and outreach efforts: maintain online presence, develop promotional materials, engage with the local community, and encourage parent referrals.
- Ensure enrollment goals are met by tracking inquiries, conducting effective tours, following up with families, and maintaining a healthy enrollment pipeline.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- 1+ year(s) of training and/or experience in management and supervision of staff.
- Knowledge of child development for the primary ages served in the child care center.
- Professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
- Professes a personal faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrates a lifestyle consistent with biblical values, and is willing to lead the center in partnership with the mission of Victory Church.
- Experience in marketing, enrollment management, or customer service is strongly preferred.
Other Requirements
- Documentation of attaining at least a Step Nine in the Oregon Registry; OR
- (1) 1 year of training and/or experience in management and supervision of adults OR knowledge of child development for the primary ages served by the center, as evidenced by a combination of professional references, education, experience, or training; AND
- (2) A plan, approved by OCC, showing how any missing component will be addressed and how the program will be operated until the Director obtains the necessary training, experience, or knowledge.
