About the Role

We are seeking a skilled
Commissioning/Energy Specialist
to support projects across new construction, retro-commissioning, re-commissioning, and continuous commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for sustainable design and building performance. Experience with LEED, WELL, B3, ASHRAE energy audits, and measurement/verification methods is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver commissioning services for complex building projects.
  • Oversee commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, nurse call, and other building systems.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure commissioning aligns with design intent, owner requirements, and schedules.
  • Support clients in pursuing sustainability certifications such as LEED and B3.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design and functional testing requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and observations prior to equipment start-up.
  • Develop and implement pre-functional and functional testing procedures in line with industry standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system performance issues, coordinating re-testing as needed.
  • Provide training to owner operations and maintenance staff.
  • Stay current on emerging building systems technologies and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of commissioning (Cx) experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, environmental science, or related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency with commissioning software (Bluerithm experience a plus).
  • Professional certifications such as:
  • AABC CxA, BCxA, ASHRAE CPMP, CCP, or NEBB BSC
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)
