Overview

Timothy Rose Contracting is a 40-year heavy civil construction company specializing in municipal and FDOT projects. We are hiring an HR Specialist to support our growing team. This position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. In this energetic position, you will lead initiatives across talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR management systems to foster a positive organizational culture. Your expertise will drive strategic HR projects, streamline workforce management processes, and ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational growth while supporting our most valuable asset—our people.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time
  • Post job ads and manage applicant pipeline
  • Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews
  • Maintain employee files, PTO records, and HR documentation
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding
  • Support recruiting efforts and attend career fairs as needed
  • Provide general HR support to employees and management
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations through regular safety audits and documentation in collaboration with safety teams.

Qualifications

  • Previous HR experience required
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain accurate records
  • Construction industry experience a plus
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills capable of engaging diverse audiences effectively across various channels including social media platforms for employer branding purposes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience in data collection, data entry accuracy, and report generation for workforce analytics.
  • A proactive approach to employee relations issues combined with conflict management expertise.
