Job Description
The Assistant Vice President for Creative Services and Marketing directs the college's integrated marketing communications program through the strategic management of a comprehensive institutional brand and long-range marketing campaigns. The position oversees a staff of creative professionals to ensure the strategic development, conceptualization, creation, production, and delivery of a wide range of materials in support of recruitment, advancement, and the enhancement of FIT's institutional image.

The AVP is a member of the President's Extended Cabinet and reports directly to the Deputy to the President. The AVP works collaboratively with the Media and Public Relations team and departments across the college, including the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Executive Director of Continuing and Professional Studies, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Foundation leadership, and academic deans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the work of the Creative Services team including:

  • Writing and editing

  • Strategic storytelling
  • Digital and print design
  • Web design and development
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Photography and videography

  • Direct an internal communications program and serve as a member of the crisis communications team.

  • Provide marketing and communications expertise and direction to various units across the college.
  • Manage budget and procurement for marketing and communications projects and external vendors when relevant.
  • Oversee the development and production of all college publications.
  • Participate in the visual communications planning on campus, including signage and way-finding to ensure brand consistency.
  • Represent the department on various committees and through the cultivation and management of internal and external relationships.
  • Establish, interact, and maintain strong and effective working relationships with a wide variety of collaborators including administrators, staff, faculty, students and external constituent groups and partners.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in creative direction, advertising, marketing and communications, publications management, web design, and strategy including at least 5 years at a management and supervisory level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in branding and marketing of complex organizations in either corporate or higher education settings.
  • Experience leading and managing highly faceted teams.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of planning and conducting integrated marketing communications and brand management programs.
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and marketing abilities with an understanding of institutional image building.
  • Current knowledge of digital and social media marketing, web content management systems, and multi-channel communications integration across digital and print platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multi-faceted creative teams.

Additional Information

Salary
Salary: $190,000 to $210,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule
Days/Hours: On campus M-F, 9am-5pm, however, the demands of the work will require hours outside the normal schedule (evening/weekends) per the needs of the department.

The working conditions for this position will be primarily in an office space. The physical requirement for this position will require frequent sitting, occasional standing, occasional walking, occasional bending and occasionally lifting up to 10 lbs.
