Position Summary
The Inventory Control Dock Administrator serves as the critical link between the warehouse floor and the inventory management team. This position is responsible for ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are accurately documented, verified, and processed in alignment with company standards and customer requirements. The role operates directly on the warehouse dock, maintaining real-time accuracy between physical product movement and system records.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Verification
- Verify all inbound and outbound shipments against bills of lading, packing lists, and purchase orders.
- Confirm product counts, lot codes, expiration dates, and labeling accuracy prior to receipt or shipment.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or non-compliance immediately to Inventory Control and Receiving Leads.
- Documentation & Data Entry
- Maintain accurate and timely entry of receipts, transfers, and adjustments in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Ensure all paperwork—receipts, manifests, and load sheets—is properly signed, filed, and uploaded daily.
- Audit carrier paperwork for completeness and accuracy prior to driver departure.
- Inventory Accuracy
- Support cycle counting and reconciliation efforts by providing dock-level verification and trace documentation.
- Communicate product misplacements, shortages, or overages promptly to the Inventory Control team.
- Assist with labeling, rework, or repack projects when related to count accuracy or shipment integrity.
- Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the point of contact between receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
- Partner with forklift operators, pickers, and receivers to ensure proper product staging, segregation, and movement.
- Participate in daily dock huddles and update leadership on shipment or paperwork status.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all documentation and product handling complies with company, customer, and regulatory requirements (e.g., lot traceability, FIFO, temperature control if applicable).
- Adhere to all dock safety protocols and maintain clean, organized workstations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years in warehouse administration, inventory control, or shipping/receiving coordination.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in WMS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dock-floor environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk on the dock for extended periods.
- Lift and handle up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in warehouse conditions (temperature variations, noise, forklifts operating nearby).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
