Professional Charter Bus Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Charter Bus Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for various groups including school children, seniors, and community members. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial driving, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. This role involves transporting passengers on scheduled routes and special events, ensuring a positive experience for all Jaco Limousine & Transportation Passengers while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
Duties
- Safely operate charter buses, mini buses, and all company vehicles according to designated routes and schedules
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including children and individuals with special needs
- Maintain cleanliness and mechanical integrity of the bus; perform routine inspections and minor maintenance as needed
- Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate routes and address any issues during transit
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety standards
- Manage behavior of passengers when necessary, employing behavior management techniques to ensure safety and order
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger questions or concerns professionally
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a valid driver's license
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Experience working with children or seniors; understanding of childcare or senior care needs is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of vehicles
- Ability to handle behavior management effectively in diverse passenger situations
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Experience with paratransit services or teaching roles enhances ability to assist special needs passengers
- Writing skills for documentation purposes; familiarity with behavior management strategies is beneficial

Pay: $45, $75,000.00 per year
