Duties

  • Assist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient appointments
  • Support with chairside assisting using aseptic techniques and proper infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays),ensuring high-quality medical imaging for accurate diagnosis
  • Manage patient flow as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support with medical coding and billing processes related to dental procedures to facilitate accurate insurance claims processing
  • Maintain strict infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and aseptic procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and the importance of regular dental visits

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency with Open Dental for managing medical records and documentation
  • Familiarity with X-ray techniques other dental imaging equipment
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and external providers
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and electronic health record management
