Please see important information about the ranking criteria methodology here.Job Summary:The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in the Company's accounting processes, working to continually elevate the Company's high standards. This position will offer high visibility to leadership, provide an immediate impact to the monthly financial close procedures, and assist in the creation of detailed supporting schedules. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for completing various accounting and reporting tasks, provide detailed analyses, maintenance of a subset of schedules, and development and completion of reconciliations for both balances sheet and income statement accounts.Essential Job Functions for the Senior Accountant will include:Directly contribute to month end close procedures:Prepare journal entries for multiple entities and supporting general ledger account reconciliationsMaintain detailed schedules and subledgersPrepare and manage payroll reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and accrual accountingReview and validate work completed by Staff AccountantAdhere to required internal and external reporting deadlinesProvide accurate reporting and data verification for both internal and external partiesAssist in researching and preparing technical accounting positions in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesSupport periodic (monthly and quarterly) balance sheets and income state analysesIdentify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting functionAssist in preparation of external audit and tax requestsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP guidelinesPublic accounting experience with a recognized firmCPA CertificationThorough knowledge of accounting proceduresIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their practical applicationProficiency with ERP systems, experience with NetSuite is a plusAdvanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tablesWillingness to learn new procedures and elevate the current standardsAcute attention to detail, eagerExcellent teamwork and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, fluid environmentMotivated and coachable individualTravel: Minimal Travel, 0 to 15%Work Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm standard working hoursWorking Conditions: Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting.Benefits:Mercer Advisors offers a competitive and robust benefit package to our employees.
