Activities Assistant - Senior Care (Part-Time)

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs is dedicated to providing a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for our residents. We are currently seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to enhance the quality of life for seniors with dementia through meaningful activities and social engagement. This part-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our residents, with some weekend hours required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to residents with dementia

- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and social interaction

- Assess residents' interests and abilities to develop personalized activity plans

- Collaborate with staff and family members to ensure activities meet individual needs and preferences

- Monitor and document residents' engagement and progress in activities

- Maintain a safe and clean activity area, adhering to facility policies and safety standards

Skills and Qualifications:

- Prior experience working with seniors, especially those with dementia or cognitive impairments, is preferred

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Creativity and enthusiasm in planning engaging activities

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Flexibility to work some weekends and adapt to residents' schedules

- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards seniors and their families

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in activity planning or senior care are a plus
