Foster Care Case Aide

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Foster Care Case Aide to support children and families within our foster care program. This vital role involves assisting with case management, providing emotional support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in foster care. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in child welfare, experience working with children, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable youth.
Duties
- Assist Case Managers with case documentation, record maintenance, and data entry into systems such as excel, word, or agency software.
- Support foster families, children, and biological families under the direction of a Case Manager or Program Director.
- Transport children to appointments, family visits, or other approved activities, following agency transportation policies.
- Supervise family or sibling visits as assigned, ensuring child safety and documenting observations accurately.
- Help coordinate and track medical, dental, and educational appointments for children in care.
- Assist with placement paperwork and intake coordination for children entering or exiting foster care.
- Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement: collects, analyzes and uses data to guide improvements, goal-oriented approaches
- Maintain organized case files and agency records per DFPS and licensing standards.
- Prepare forms, reports, and correspondence for case management staff.

- Assist with scheduling visits, meetings, and training events for foster families or staff.
- Support foster parent recruitment and retention activities as needed.
- File, scan, and update documentation to ensure compliance with audit and licensing requirements.
- Follow all DFPS, TAC, and agency confidentiality rules, policies, and procedures.
- Complete all required documentation (e.g., contact logs, visitation notes, transportation
- records) promptly and accurately.
- Maintain an understanding of Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Placing Agencies (Chapter 749) relevant to assigned duties.
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or policy violations immediately to the Case
- Manager or Program Supervisor, in compliance with Texas Family Code §
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to supporting vulnerable youth.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license (if required for travel).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development,
- or related field preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in child welfare, social services, or
- administrative support preferred.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver's license, reliable transportation, and maintain
- minimum state-required auto insurance.
- Must be eligible to pass a DFPS Central Registry check, FBI fingerprint
- check, MVR and drug screen per Minimum Standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and agency case management software.
- Ability to work independently, organize multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
