Brief Description
The
Human Resources Manager
performs duties at the professional level in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, recruiting, company communications, time and attendance, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. The HR Manager must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and business needs. This position plays a key role in the success of the organization by providing strategic and operational support.

This role is on-site 5 days a week.

Your Impact:

  • Maintains all employees' and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Recruits for both professional and production personnel (reviews applications, interviews, and places ads in selected areas).
  • Attend Job Fairs as needed for recruitment.
  • Onboarding new employees with a follow-up at thirty days with the manager and employee to gauge if everyone is on track with expectations.
  • Enter new employees into the HR systems.
  • Ensure all new employees have had a background check; work with the executive team if there are any questionable results.
  • Acts as an employee relations specialist.
  • Monitors tardiness and absenteeism reports and works with managers to ensure proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.
  • Maintains employee personnel files.
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; monthly audits of Forms I-9.
  • Updates, monitors, and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on manager requests.
  • Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows up on open cases. Works with the Safety Team to investigate accidents
  • Works with the Safety Team to create safety talks and employee initiatives for a safer workplace.
  • Files OSHA 300 reports yearly.
  • Creates and sends to the corporation the EEO report yearly.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans.
  • Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes with the appropriate insurance company.
  • Update benefit information in HR systems.
  • Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.
  • Creates a foundation of the ACA report to be uploaded to the corporate office.
  • Administers COBRA for group health plans.
  • Leads team on employee social activities such as BBQ, Holiday Party, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of HR experience.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
