What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Develop and implement strategies to standardize technical design processes and maintain consistency in fit, construction and quality.
  • Attend and lead fittings, owning the execution of fit process from initial proto to sales sample release.
  • Ensure all fit adjustments support brand standards while maintaining the original design intent.
  • Establish and uphold fit, sizing, and construction standards across all product categories.
  • Ensure all garments meet established quality standards and troubleshooting issues that arise during development and production.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed tech packs, specs, constructions, and grading.
  • Manage workload distribution and ensure deadlines are met efficiently across all projects.
  • Ensure the team delivers precise tech packs that enable seamless communication with vendors and factories.
  • Adress and resolve any escalated fit or construction issues promptly and effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and reduce development timelines.
  • Introduce new tools, technologies, and processes to streamline technical design operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical challenges across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical design goals with overall business objectives.
  • Partner with design, production, merchandising, and sourcing teams to balance design intent, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global vendors and factories to ensure adherence to technical requirements.
  • Communicate construction, fit and quality expectations with clarity and confidence to manufacturing partners.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide the technical design team to ensure high performance and continual growth.

Qualifications/Experience We're Looking For

  • 8 -10 years' work experience in the fashion industry including technical design and / or patternmaking with construction experience and full knowledge of total production timeline. Additional expertise should include an understanding of grading, costing of garments, textiles, garment testing, draping, and fitting.
  • Great people skills and the ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, proactively troubleshoot, problem-solve and effectively influence.
  • A solutions oriented approach with a positive, team focused mindset.
  • Deep understanding of production garment construction and fit, with the ability to interpret design intent and create alternative production-friendly solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize workload to meet calendar goals.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Excel
