Job SummaryThe Senior Business Development Manager is considered a leadership role with project management responsibilities that include leading development and acquisition activities associated with natural gas projects. For natural gas project acquisition opportunities, this role is responsible for leading negotiations and for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects. For the development of natural gas power generation projects, the Senior Business Development Manager is accountable for the entire project scope, project team, local permitting, corporate governance and senior management communications. The Senior Business Development Manager is expected to mentor other team members in aspects of power generation project development, project acquisition, and power generation technologies. With extensive knowledge of the power industry, the Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and pursuing growth strategies and opportunities. This includes leading evaluation, analysis, due diligence activities, and negotiations for prospective generation asset acquisition and development opportunities. The Senior Business Development Manager is the lead participant in negotiations of project contracts and agreements, pro forma financial modeling and analysis, preparation of regulatory filings, executive level communications, preparation of governance materials and public presentations. This includes leading internal teams from multiple disciplines and departments including construction, operations, external affairs, public policy, corporate communications, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, risk management, fuels, treasury, public/investor relations and financial analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
Senior Generation Development Manager a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required (financial analysis, project management, account management, contract negotiations, project development, or other like).
An industry expert with extensive knowledge of electric project development and energy markets (specifically natural gas) generally acquired through related work experience. Superior financial analysis skills, including ability to review and make investment recommendations based on pro forma financial statement inputs and results. Experience in leading commercial contract negotiations, acquisition/partnership and divestiture activities, and development of large or small energy projects/facilities. Exemplary leadership and communication abilities (oral/written/presentation/interpersonal) to drive results in a team environment under minimal direction with internal and external customers and stakeholders. Ability to analyze information and make strategic business decisions using sound judgement skills. Strong organizational, risk analysis, and project planning/execution skills are also required. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple key project efforts. Demonstrated computer skills including all MS Office applications.
A partial year of experience of 6 months or more will be rounded to one year of experience.

Education RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or the Sciences.
Master's degree preferred in Business/Finance or an MBA.
