Job Summary: We are seeking a hardworking, experienced professional to support our Yukon Conveyor Belt Services Operations. The Conveyor Belt Services Superintendent will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope as well as establishing a professional working team environment.

This is an exempt, salaried position, reporting directly to the Yukon Regional Director.

The selected candidate must be willing to relocate to or be located in the Palmer, AK area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Must have a proven commitment to safety
  • Must be a dedicated leader in safety and supporting the team through mentoring, training, and succession-planning activities
  • Ability to manage RAM employees and subcontractors in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure all works are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate techniques.
  • Manage project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Perform safety inspections, and interact with field crews, and our clients, to promote a safe working culture.
  • Actively participate in risk management. formal risks, safety analysis, FRA, JHA's, lift plans, and ACE cards.
  • Project management skills to include manpower requirements, interviews, timecard approvals, job estimating, client meetings, expense reporting, equipment scheduling requirements, and project reviews.
  • Must have a clear understanding of the product lines that we promote and the ability to communicate to customers the features and benefits of each
  • Lead continual development of team members, employee reviews, and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Clearly understand company profit expectations and the impact on monthly financials, job closeout, and client turnover.
  • This position could require travel and overnight stay depending on the project location.
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in management position in the conveyor systems industry.
  • Must possess advanced skills and knowledge for the safe installation and splicing of steel cord and fabric conveyor belt.
  • Advanced understanding of MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations
  • Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
  • Knowledge and ability to provide analysis of finances, budgeting and forecasting
  • Must possess excellent negotiation, management and problem-solving skills
  • Professional level communication and interpersonal skills required, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Ability to work in various industrial settings, including Shop environment, mining environment, and construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity
  • Ability to safely lift lbs. frequently, using proper lifting techniques
  • RAM will provide phone and laptop, transportation, and training requirements necessary for the project locations.
