The Role

We're looking for a warm, organized, and tech-savvy Client Intake Coordinator to be the first point of contact for new clients. In this role, you'll interview prospective clients over the phone, assess their readiness for therapy, and match them with the best-fit therapist from our team. You'll also handle the administrative tasks that keep our practice running smoothly.

If you're a registered AMFT, ACSW, or APCC in California, you'll also have the opportunity to see individual and couples clients, accrue BBS hours, and receive clinical supervision from Adam Blum, LMFT, Founder/Director of GTC. Adam is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, has an attachment approach, and has been working with clients for 23 years.

This is a part-time, remote position (about 12 hours per week), with flexible phone shifts spread across each weekday. Additional hours are available if you see therapy clients through GTC.

What You'll Do

• Welcome new clients by phone, assess their needs, and connect them with the right clinician
• Follow up with prospective clients as they consider starting therapy
• Support clients with scheduling, payment setup, and consent forms
• Assist clinicians and clients with database questions, superbills, and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate client records and intake tracking
• Onboard and train new clinicians on our systems
• Occasionally complete forms for insurance companies
• Attend monthly Zoom consultation meetings with GTC therapists
• Handle other administrative tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

• Available for about 12 hours/week, Monday–Friday, with 2–3 hour shifts each day (Mondays are busiest)
• California resident (preference for Bay Area candidates available for in-person weekly supervision in San Francisco)
• Bachelor's degree required; preference for current counseling graduate students or post-graduates working toward California licensure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience and confidence navigating computer software
• Commitment to LGBTQ+ equality and mental health

Compensation

• $24/hour plus a $12 bonus for each paid first client session scheduled
• Clinical associates are additionally paid for psychotherapy sessions:
• $75 per 50-minute individual session
• $90 per 50-minute couples session
• Previous Intake Coordinators have earned $1,400–$2,400 per month from client sessions, depending on caseload and availability. In addition they earned about $1,320 per month for their 48 hours of work as Client Intake Coordinator. This totals to $2,720 - $3,720 total per month.
• BBS hours available for intakes, clinical work, supervision, progress notes, and training
• Paid sick leave: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
