Job Summary: The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods to ensure timely deliveries, optimal routing, and effective communication between drivers, customers, and other logistics personnel. The position requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Starting Pay: $18.00 to 20.00 DOE

Schedule: Thursday – Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning & Scheduling: Plan and schedule the most efficient routes for deliveries, considering factors such as traffic, weather, delivery windows, and load sizes.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between drivers, clients, and warehouse personnel. Relay real-time information about delivery status, any delays, or issues.
  • Driver Coordination: Dispatch drivers, ensuring they have the necessary instructions and equipment for successful deliveries. Provide support and assistance as needed.
  • Monitoring Deliveries: Track and monitor vehicles to ensure timely arrivals at destinations. Adjust routes as necessary to address any issues or delays.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, shipments, driver logs, and other relevant information. Ensure compliance with legal and company standards for transport.
  • Problem Solving: Address any logistical issues that arise during the transportation process, including delays, accidents, or technical failures.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers' needs and expectations are met by providing updates and resolving any concerns related to deliveries.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that drivers follow safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements, including proper documentation for shipping and receiving goods.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a logistics coordination role.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation regulations.
  • Proficient in using dispatch software, GPS, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing schedules and documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards for transportation.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, depending on the needs of the business.
