In the Staffing Specialist role, you will, under supervision, provide entry-level professional human resources services and technical support to supervisors, managers, employees, and HR staff across the agency. The position assists with a variety of human resource functions, including recruitment, selection, classification, and compensation. Primary responsibilities include supporting hiring managers and supervisors with vacancy fill activities, conducting routine job audits, and assisting with position allocation reviews and recommendations.

This position also supports more complex HR work by assisting higher-level HR staff, including providing support related to audit appeals and other classification or compensation reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years' Staffing/Recruitment experience OR a bachelor's degree in human resources with one (1) year of Staffing/Recruitment experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in recruitment, selection, compensation, equal opportunity principles and/or affirmative action concepts to evaluate and administer employee selection criteria and processes
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws related to recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous projects independently with multiple competing deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with sensitivity and discretion to resolve issues with varied and diverse clientele
