Position Title: Pre-K Assistant

Reports To: Administrative Staff

Status: Part-Time

Position Summary:

The Pre-K Assistant supports the mission and daily operations of Resurrection Lutheran School by assisting the lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This position requires a dependable, motivated, and child-focused individual who demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a genuine love for early childhood education.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing classroom lessons, activities, and daily routines.
  • Support children during restroom breaks, snack, and lunch times, ensuring safety and good hygiene practices.
  • Set up, serve, and clean up snacks and lunches, maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and activities as directed by the lead teacher or administrative staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the classroom and common areas throughout the day, including wiping tables, organizing materials, and ensuring the space is ready for the next day.
  • Provide positive guidance and help maintain classroom control during learning activities and transitions.
  • Perform light administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and assisting with communication as needed.
  • Uphold the school's values and promote a positive, respectful, and faith-based environment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while remaining a supportive team member.
  • Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
  • Must pass all required background checks and provide strong professional references.

Work Schedule:

Part-time position; specific hours to be determined by administrative staff based on program needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Base Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
