Position: R&R Technician (Removal & Replacement)

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled R&R Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel truck repair, specializing in efficient and accurate diagnosis, and the removal and replacement of major powertrain components, particularly transmissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in diesel trucks using both traditional and electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Removal & Replacement: Perform the efficient removal and replacement of automatic and manual transmissions, transfer cases, and other major vehicle components.
  • Repair & Service: Execute various repairs on diesel pick up truck systems, including drivetrain, suspension, steering, and braking.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed to Tier One Transmissions' high standards of quality and safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, organized, and timely records of all diagnoses, repairs, and parts used.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on professional experience in diesel pick up truck maintenance and repair, with a focus on component R&R.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of specialized diagnostic equipment and tools specific to diesel engines and transmissions (e.g., Ford Power Stroke, Dodge Cummins, GM Duramax, etc.).
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Exceptional mechanical skills and the ability to work confidently on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks.
  • Certifications: ASE certifications (especially in Diesel, Drivetrain, or Transmission) are highly desirable.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift heavy components and work in various physical positions.
    Tools- The candidate will provide their own tools to complete the work assigned to them at Tier One Transmissions.
