HVAC Field Superintendent - Multifamily

We are looking for a highly motivated HVAC Field Superintendent to join our rapidly growing company. We primarily work with commercial builders on new construction multi-family projects in the Southeast. Experience with multi-family new construction is highly preferred. Serious candidates should have 7-10 or more years of commercial HVAC construction experience.

This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day field coordination of all aspects of our HVAC projects including, but not limited to the following:

  • Manage and coordinate HVAC installation from start to finish at our project job sites.
  • Participate in review of MEP related shop drawings and submittals
  • Responsible for onsite construction support for MEP systems and will oversee the start-up, balancing, commissioning and validation certification of these systems, including owner training and project closeout.
  • Help develop and oversee project specific MEP quality and safety programs, including running safety meetings onsite.
  • Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with all parties onsite.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resources to all installation companies.
  • Direct subcontractor crews and ensure work is completed in a timely manner while updating the superintendent of progress and plans.
  • Assist Project Manager with ordering of materials as needed, while also writing RFI's, change orders and ensuring labor needs are met.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors, Inspectors, crews and other trades to ensure timely completion of job duties and safety procedures are followed.
  • Attend sub-contractor and project review meetings as needed to check-in with all members on progression of operations.
  • Ensure organization and cleanliness of material storage at various jobsites.
  • Perform quality control checks as needed, make proposals to onsite personnel to prepare for inspections, and follow up by working with inspectors to answer questions and provide details as necessary.
  • Some travel will be necessary. A reliable truck will be required and compensated with a truck allowance.
  • Identify and properly document activities on company provided computer software.
  • Be proactive instead of reactive. Be able to plan ahead to mitigate disruptions as much as possible.
  • Ability to prioritize and have a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

  • 7-10 years' experience with commercial HVAC installation
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical construction concepts and applicable codes.
  • Good understanding of the test and balance process and requirements
  • Good understanding of MEP related safety regulations
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of safety in a construction environment
  • Comfortable in an open and collaborative working environment
  • Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to create and support a positive team environment
  • A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to read and interpret plans / specs and refer to them when needed for accurate installation.
  • Strong construction background with impeccable eye for ensuring attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate computer software to properly document activities

Full-Time position

Monday through Friday, weekends only if needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60, $80,000.00 per year
