Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Director to lead and optimize our manufacturing, procurement, inventory, and logistics functions. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and supply chain reliability. The Operations Director will oversee all aspects of production and distribution to support business growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

As a key member of the management team, the Operations Director will collaborate with executive leadership to align operational strategies with company goals, implement best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Leadership

  • Direct and oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to productivity, quality control, and cost efficiency.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost competitiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, oversee vendor performance, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Oversee demand planning, inventory controls, and stock accuracy.
  • Develop strategies to reduce carrying costs while ensuring product availability.
  • Utilize ERP and forecasting tools to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.

Logistics & Distribution

  • Direct warehouse, transportation, and distribution operations to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery.
  • Implement logistics strategies that improve customer satisfaction and reduce shipping costs.
  • Optimize systems for order fulfillment, tracking, and performance reporting.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with the President and executive team on long-term operational planning.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to align supply chain with business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, vendor management, logistics, and inventory control best practices.
  • Proven success in implementing ERP systems, lean principles, and process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
