FA Taylor Company, a fourth-generation, Salisbury-based commercial roofing and sheet-metal contracting firm with over 85 years of experience, is seeking a full-time Executive Assistant to support the President and leadership team. This role blends executive administrative support, front office responsibilities and select personal assistant duties to keep the business—and the executive—running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the President, managing calendar, appointments and meeting logistics.
  • Coordinate business travel, lodging and itineraries (and occasional personal travel) for the President.
  • Draft professional correspondence, presentations and reports.
  • Manage email communications and follow-up actions on behalf of the President.
  • Handle confidential information with utmost discretion.

Office & Operational Support:

  • Act as primary receptionist: greet visitors, field a high volume of calls, and represent FA Taylor's professionalism at the front desk.
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming front office environment including supplies, mail and deliveries.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, field operations, roofing and sheet-metal services, and scheduling teams to ensure smooth coordination of tasks and timely follow-up.
  • Support project scheduling, dispatch coordination, data entry and record-keeping to enhance operational efficiency.

Personal Assistant Support:

  • Assist the President with selected personal and household matters (appointments, errands, family-related scheduling) to support work-life balance.
  • Handle sensitive personal duties and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant or Personal Assistant—ideally supporting a senior executive or business owner.
  • Previous experience or familiarity with the construction, roofing or building-services industry preferred (FA Taylor is rooted in commercial roofing, sheet-metal and building envelope solutions).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
  • Resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling confidential business and personal matters.
