Summary
The Vice President of Global Enterprise Applications will oversee the global strategy for developing, implementing, integrating our enterprise business applications, and the effective & efficient delivery of business technology solutions to support business processes across the enterprise. This role will ensure that quality, efficiency, and agility goals are achieved in the delivery and management of applications. As a member of the IT leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. The expectation for this role is to operate as both a business leader and a technologist with a vision for how IT can enable productivity and efficiency for the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides technology vision and leadership to achieve key business objectives
- Evaluates and plans strategic technology roadmap as it relates to applications and cloud-based distributed systems by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, development, deployment, and management of current and future application technologies with all stakeholders
- Manages existing Application programs (Oracle, WorkDay, Middleware/BI platforms, etc..), products, and services for lines of business, including Marketing, Sales, Services, Customer Success, automation, business analytics, Application integrations, Enterprise Architecture, and third-party software as a service (SaaS) management
- Enhances and oversees global application development, testing & support, including data integration across a diverse and decentralized computing environment
- Plans, develops and delivers business solutions for the enterprise
- Works closely with Enterprise Architects, maintaining strong functional business knowledge and proficiency with business process reengineering and large-scale ERP/CRM/PLM/PDM initiatives
- Manages relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization
- Leads day-to-day management of the application organization (including staffing, budgeting, and other relevant management functions) and is required to hold all application delivery teams accountable for optimizing the cost, risk, and value of applications throughout their life cycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 20 + years relevant experience and proven track record in Information and Systems, primarily Oracle centric, and overseeing, the technology/teams that empower the business
- Minimum 10 + years experience developing strategic enterprise global roadmaps and implementations
- Minimum 10 + years of Software and Application Development experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of developing enterprise grade web-based applications
- Proven experience with software development project methodologies (SDLC, Agile, PMP, Scrum) and ideally proven DevOps/CI CD experience
- Proven experience in large ERP deployments, with deep expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) – Oracle Financials and Manufacturing (Fusion preferred), and leading Microsoft development stacks (MS SQL, VSTS, TFS, ASP.NET)
- Minimum 10 + years of work within complex manufacturing and high-technology business processes and deep understanding or ERP & CRM business flows
- Proven experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Reporting platform implementation (Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Splash BI, SAS, etc…)
- Ability to communicate effectively with Executives, business stakeholders and key technology partners
- Strong cloud platforms experience to architect global compliant based solutions
- The ability to motivate, inspire, counsel, and facilitate individuals and teams to take responsibility and accountability for goals
- A blend of business, technical, financial, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Excellent critical/structured analysis, strategic planning, and project execution skills
- Team player with a passion for building relationships and providing exceptional service
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Master's degree is a plus
- Experience in Aerospace and Defense industries and/or multi-divisional environments in a plus
- Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle EBS – Financials and Manufacturing (Oracle Fusion preferred)
- Experience with Agile and LEAN in an Information Technology environment is desirable
- Excellent relationship-building, communication skills, and negotiation skills; the ability to get things done via influence vs. authority
- Ability to operate at an enterprise level; uses vision to think beyond the immediate situation, explore multiple potential paths, and adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances with a focus on customer experience
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
The salary range for this role is:
$220,000 - $288,750AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
