Product Engineer

Our pharmaceutical team is looking for a highly motivated and creative Product Engineer who will lead efforts in improving therapeutics with microgravity. This is an opportunity in an exciting area of growth for Varda, where you will get to shape Varda's product culture, and will play a significant role in establishing the low Earth orbit economy.

Responsibilities

• Support new process equipment development through quantitative performance characterization and engineering risk assessments
• Develop, organize, and communicate process performance specifications, and hardware requirements
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting, including root cause determination to overcome equipment-related process challenges
• Document, communicate, and present technical assessments
• Collaborate closely with pharmaceutical and payload development group

Basic Qualifications

• Either one of the following criteria:
  • PhD degree in chemical engineering, materials science, engineering physics, applied physics, physics, or similar field
  • M.S. degree with 3+ years of experience in the biopharma industry
• Experience in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
• Experience as the responsible engineer or technical owner of projects at various stages from initial concept to research & development
• Strong project management skills and ability to effectively partner with multiple collaborators in various project stages

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Experience in the biopharma industry
• Hands-on experience with process equipment for crystallization of small molecules or biologics
• Versed in analytical characterization
• Experience with high-volume scale-up

• Salary Range: $100, $160,000.00/per year
• This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA
• Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance
• You will be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards
