Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our newly opened Interventional and General Neurology Clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience managing all aspects of an outpatient office environment, including but not limited to patient scheduling, answering phones, check-in/check-out, obtaining vital signs, preparing exam rooms for minor procedures, managing insurance authorizations, and coordinating elective procedures ordered from clinic visits.

Knowledge of the AdvancedMD electronic health record system is preferred but not required. This position offers the opportunity for growth into an Office Manager role for the candidate who successfully integrates into our practice.

This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, exceptional patient care skills, excellent communication and teamwork, and demonstrated leadership ability. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

About Our Practice

We are a newly established Neurology/Neurointerventional clinic with anticipated rapid expansion over the next 2–3 years. Our mission is to ensure both outstanding patient care and staff well-being through an efficient and supportive workflow.

As a new practice, the selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to help shape and improve operational processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and triage incoming calls
  • Schedule appointments and support smooth patient flow through the clinic
  • Perform intake procedures, including vital signs and documentation of medical history, allergies, and medications
  • Prepare exam rooms for minor in-office procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, including basic ICD coding
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and Basic Life Support practices
  • Coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures in collaboration with hospital teams
  • Communicate effectively with radiology, laboratory services, primary care clinics, and referring providers
  • Learn essential knowledge of common neurological conditions to support patient education and discharge instructions

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program required
  • Experience in Neurology, outpatient procedure scheduling, and Spanish language preferred
  • Experience with insurance authorizations required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding, and EHR systems (AdvancedMD preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and patient-focused service skills
  • Ability to remain organized, courteous, and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings
