Automotive Service Technician

Automotive Calibration Specialists (ACS) & Gary's Airbag Service (GAS) is growing, and we're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our Reno team. What You'll Do:

• Perform dynamic and static ADAS calibrations
• Handle AC evacuation and recharge for 1234YF systems
• Conduct electrical diagnostics
• Complete certain mechanical repairs following OE specifications and repair standards
• Ensure every vehicle leaves in pre-loss condition

Responsibilities:

• Be customer service-focused first, with the ability to develop relationships and deliver operational consistency.
• Utilize various tools, diagnostic equipment, and IT support team to make the most effective calibrations, diagnostics, and repairs of vehicles.
• Perform engine and transmission replacements, ensuring proper installation and calibration.
• Complete full-frame swaps and structural mechanical repairs.
• Overhaul suspension systems, including control arms, subframes, and shocks.
• Repair and replace drivetrain components, differentials, axles, and transfer cases.
• Conduct dash and HVAC system removals/replacements for repairs and diagnostics.
• Replace steering components such as steering columns and rack & pinion systems.
• Perform advanced electrical and wiring repairs, including full harness replacements.
• Overhaul brake systems, including master cylinders, boosters, and ABS modules.
• Repair fuel systems, including high-pressure fuel pumps and injectors.
• Module Programming.
• Successfully complete vehicle alignments.
• Wiring/harness repairs.
• Evacuate, Recharge and diagnosis of AC systems.
• Lifting and inspecting vehicles for damage using floor jacks, quick jacks and or two post lifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Diagnostic Scan Tools preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in automotive repairs and/or diagnostics.
• Must be at least 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
• Personable, friendly demeanor with "How can we help" customer service approach.
• Must be able to stand for long periods during the repair of a vehicle.
• Must be able to walk, sit, bend, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or crawl frequently.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and/or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions. Must have the ability to work in a shop environment in inclement weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• Requires frequent driving of company and customer vehicles.
• Extensive travel within the assigned area may be expected.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to comfortably navigate a computer.
