Starting from just after school clubs to before and after-school programs, we blend fun with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) to spark creativity and innovation. Position Summary:

As a Front Desk Representative, you are the first impression of Discover After School. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with families and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming, and professional environment. Your customer service and communication skills will set the tone for every interaction—whether greeting parents, answering questions, or managing phone calls. You'll play a key part in ensuring families feel supported and valued every day.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service by warmly greeting families and ensuring every visitor feels welcome.
• Serve as the main point of contact for phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, staff, and students.
• Monitor student sign-in and sign-out processes accurately.
• Assist parents with paperwork, including consent forms and accident reports.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk area.
• Address minor complaints and provide accurate, helpful information.

Qualifications:

• Must speak strong English. Spanish speaking ability is preferred. 
• Two or more years of experience as a receptionist or similar role is preferred.
• Commitment to customer service.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma.

Skills: 

• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Proficiency with computers (knowledge of the Lineleader System is a plus).
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Patience and understanding when working with children and parents.

Experience:

• One or more years as a receptionist or in a customer service role.
• Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)
• Two or more years of experience as a receptionist or similar role is preferred.

License/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• Morning Care - 6:15AM - 8:00AM
• After Care - 2:30PM - 6:00PM, 1:30PM - 6:00PM Wednesdays 

Discover After School Seasonal Camp Opportunity Disclosure: 

At Discover After School, our main employment period is from August to June, with seasonal camp opportunities available during breaks. Staffing for camps depends on student enrollment, so not all staff may work during seasonal camp breaks. We conduct a survey at the end of each season to determine who is interested in working seasonal camps. Managers choose top counselors based on their work ethics and reliability, emphasizing factors like attendance and punctuality because camp is a full-day commitment and requires dependable staff. Additionally, we survey employees at the end of the school year to confirm who will return for the next school year.
