Summary

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to advance or a Junior Controller ready to broaden leadership scope. The position is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, including financial reporting, cost accounting, payroll, and system implementation, while ensuring compliance and efficiency across Tutta Bella's restaurant and manufacturing operations. This position works closely with Finance, HR and Operations staff.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who thrives in a multi-entity environment, enjoys collaborating across departments, and is passionate about improving financial systems and processes.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supervise and oversee work of Finance Associate.
  • Directs the monthly close process and produces accurate, timely financial reports.
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP and internal control policies.
  • Supports consolidation and reporting to ownership and external partners.
  • Maintains and analyzes standard costs, BOMs, and manufacturing variances.
  • Reconciles perpetual inventory with the general ledger and partner with operations to monitor costs and efficiency.
  • Oversees biweekly payroll processing for all Tutta Bella restaurant and production employees.
  • Leads payroll system implementation or migration, coordinating with HR and IT.
  • Serves as primary liaison with payroll provider and support HR with reporting and audits.
  • Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across restaurant and manufacturing divisions.
  • Supports audit preparation, tax filings (sales/use, business personal property, B&O), and maintain fixed asset records.
  • Recommends and implements accounting process and system improvements.
  • Supports ERP and payroll system integrations to enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Provides mentorship to accounting staff and act as backup for the CFO when needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or multi-location operations.
  • At least 2–3 years in manufacturing, food production, or restaurant accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, payroll, and GAAP compliance.
  • Systems experience with Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll platforms (ADP, Paylocity, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America (USA).
