Project Controls Specialist
As a Project Controls Professional, you will support integrated project controls across the full lifecycle—estimating, cost management, scheduling, risk/change control, and reporting—to help deliver projects on time and within budget. This role involves collaboration with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and contractors to ensure scope, cost, and schedule alignment.
Duties can involve following:
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to clarify scope and obtain pricing.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, tracking commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Monitor cost trends and variances; support change management and update forecasts as needed.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6; perform critical path analysis and update status regularly.
- Align cost and schedule data for earned value analysis; prepare dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work using project documentation and historical data.
- Validate contractor progress and invoices; coordinate with procurement and accounting for accurate financial records.
- Identify cost and schedule risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support project closeout activities and document lessons learned for future improvements.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience managing transportation infrastructure projects of similar size and complexity
- Government or public agency experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and all Microsoft applications is a must
- Strong analytical and computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in integrated construction management/cost reporting platforms.
- Experience with data management tools is required.
- Proficiency in relevant tools: Primavera P6, Excel, Unifier, Procore, Prolog; estimating software experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is desirable
- Possess skills in organization, technical areas, and team-building to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is desirable.
- Certifications like CCM, CCP, PSP, EVP, PMP, etc. a plus.
