BASIC FUNCTIONS

The Director of Maintenance will plan, organize, and direct the maintenance team on equipment repairs, troubleshooting and ensures equipment is maintained in operable conditions to meet production demands. Director of Maintenance will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility's structure and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

Position also includes, but is not limited to the following:

· Coordinates and oversees the repairs of manufacturing production equipment and maintenance work assignments performed by internal company maintenance technicians and/or contractors. Will work with the Facility Supervisor on all related assignments in the maintenance and upkeep of the building structure and grounds.

· Assesses manufacturing equipment, materials and labor required to complete a wide range of machine repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure that jobs are complete to high standards.

· Proactively seeks out waste of resources and initiates actions to improve methods and reduce costs.

· Assists in the selection of new hires as well as on going coaching, development, and disciplining of current maintenance staff. Involved in day-to-day supervising and work assignment to ensure work force productivity.

· Ensures that maintenance and facility employees gain and maintain a thorough understanding of safety regulations and provide guidance on departmental and company policies and procedures.

· Has good working knowledge of standard OSHA regulations and practices (e.g. Lock Out/Tag Out, Haz Comm)

· Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files related to facilities inspections and compliance reporting in order to comply with regulatory requirements.

· Ensures that manufacturing tools, parts & equipment, and vehicles are well maintained and are able to meet intended objectives.

· Maintains production and facilities on-hand spare parts inventory.

· Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for various maintenance and facilities projects.

· Has broad experience and familiarity with building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic and fire safety systems

· Ensure routine preventive maintenance on equipment is done

· Provides direction, development and leadership to direct reports when required.

· Partners up with Human Resources as required to ensure effective employee relations with staff members are exercised according to established core values and all applicable state and federal laws. Provides employee coaching and development and makes employment and disciplinary decisions. With the assistance of Human Resources, Director of Maintenance resolves employee issues through problem resolution.

· Ensure routine preventive maintenance on equipment is done

· Provides direction, development and leadership to direct reports when required.

· Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a must.

· Must have experience supervising manufacturing maintenance staff.

· Ability to analyze, plan and solve problems. Able to read prints and drawings and have solid math and mechanical aptitude.

· Ability to execute sound independent judgment and communicate effectively with staff across the organization.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Power Point, Excel, and Word a must.

· Must be detailed oriented, organized and ability to multitask.

· Promote positive environment and have solid interpersonal skills while adhering to Company established Core Values.

· Spanish language skills a plus but not required.

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimum 2-5 years of experience with solid knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Proficient AutoCAD experience and food processing engineering background a .

EQUIPMENT USED

Use of hand tools, meters (voltage, amperage, continuity, mega and others), vernier and dial calipers, drills, presses, cutting torches, and other shop equipment for the repair of a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the manufacture and packaging of bread products.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and | or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
