ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS (FT)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  1. Coordinates with the Director of Admissions, CEO, Business Office and the Director of Case Management to minimize any financial liability to the facility while ensuring full compliance with COBRA/EMTALA laws.
  2. Assists with scheduling on-call physicians, admissions coordinators to ensure optimal coverage during peak assessment and admissions periods and availability 24-hours/day, 7days/week. Covers triage and assessor shifts when needed to ensure the department is adequately staffed.
  3. Monitors assessment outcomes to ensure the behavioral health/chemical dependency needs of each client are met either at Laurel Ridge or with appropriate outside resources. Ensures all patient rights and notifications are met.
  4. Expert in HMS and ensures that 100% of calls are entered appropriately as well as knowledge in daily reporting mechanisms from the MS4/Midas system.
  5. Provides daily reporting to CEO and Admissions Director of all admissions, referrals, and information requested under the direction of the Director to ensure appropriateness of all assessments and protocols.
  6. Provides staff development and performance-based feedback in real time on all shifts.

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of psychiatric behavioral health diagnostic criteria (DSM IV), quality assessment skills, including listening and writing legibly, ability to provide customer service in a caring way, even in a high stress environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in a mental health field (along with licensure) or graduate of an accredited nursing school.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Texas license as an L.P.C, R.N. or LMSW is required.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years mental health experience. Preferred: Prior experience as an Admissions Supervisor or Director in Mental Health setting

WORK HOURS
: Monday through Friday (with potential for weekends).
