About the team:

BlueLabs' Public Affairs Practice sits within our Client Solutions Team, leading our public affairs engagements with major commercial clients. We partner with Fortune 500 companies to design and implement innovative solutions that leverage custom media and influencer analytics, experimental analysis, and AI.

Our team is a dynamic, collaborative group that thrives on developing customized strategies and exploring cutting-edge tools to meet the unique needs of each client. We are committed to providing end-to-end support, from initial consultation through program implementation, ensuring our clients have the insights and resources they need to make informed, data-driven decisions that deliver measurable results.

About the role:

BlueLabs seeks a highly accomplished and dynamic Managing Director to drive significant new revenue growth for our Public Affairs Practice. This key role is responsible for consistently identifying, pursuing, and closing transformative public affairs engagements with major corporations and Fortune 500 companies.

The Managing Director will be a primary engine for net-new revenue, proactively hunting for new logos and cultivating high-value relationships to accelerate the practice's expansion. The ideal candidate will leverage a deep professional network, proven sales track record, and business development acumen to achieve these goals.

Key responsibilities include shaping and executing the go-to-market strategy for the Public Affairs Practice and strengthening BlueLabs' standing with top-tier enterprise clients. Success in this role requires a proven history of landing and expanding large Fortune 500 accounts, with a strong focus on new sales, pipeline development, and overall revenue growth.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

New Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Proactively identify, target, and secure new client engagements with major corporations—with a clear expectation of landing new logos within the first three to six months.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities, consistently advancing prospects through the sales cycle to close new deals.
  • Leverage your established executive network to open new doors and create meaningful entry points into Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Develop tailored pitches, proposals, and go-to-market strategies that align BlueLabs' capabilities with client pain points and strategic priorities.
  • Own outcomes for the Public Affairs Practice—driving the team to meet and exceed revenue and growth targets.

Client Engagement & Delivery Excellence

  • Cultivate strong executive relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to new and existing clients.
  • Oversee a portfolio of engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable client impact that supports long-term expansion opportunities.
  • Advocate for client needs internally and contribute to BlueLabs' broader market positioning and value proposition.

Technical Expertise & Communication

  • Clearly articulate BlueLabs' technical offerings—analytics, modeling, experimentation, and more—to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Serve as final reviewer for proposals, pitch decks, RFPs, and deliverables across the Public Affairs Practice.
  • Prepare weekly updates on pipeline activity, new business progress, and client relationship health for senior leadership.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of client engagements and confirm delivery excellence.
  • Contribute thought leadership, market insights, and external-facing content that elevates BlueLabs' presence in the analytics and data science space.
  • Collaborate with departmental and organizational leadership to identify new market opportunities and convert strategic initiatives into actionable growth plans.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in sales and/or business development with demonstrated success landing and growing Fortune 500 accounts.
  • Demonstrated history of driving new business, building pipelines, and closing large, complex enterprise deals.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding ambitious sales quotas in a consultative services environment.
  • Familiarity with consumer analytics, influencer analytics, persuasion modeling, and experimental design is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build credibility and rapport with senior executives.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to craft creative solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams to exceptional results.
