The Corporate Engagement Specialist is responsible for cultivating and stewarding corporate support across Turnstone, including sponsorships for special events, programs, and annual giving initiatives. This role builds mutually beneficial partnerships with corporations and connects their employees to volunteer opportunities that advance Turnstone's mission. This position is an exempt, 40-hour per week position.

The essential functions of the Corporate Engagement Specialist position include but are not limited to:

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward corporate partners to support organizational and fundraising initiatives, ensuring high-quality relationship management and retention. Collaborate with the Chief of Development and Strategic Partnerships (CDSP) when engaging in relationships of $10,000 or above.
  • Conduct prospect research and prepare 75–100 sponsorship proposals annually with targeted outcomes and a success rate of at least 75%.
  • Manage a sponsorship pipeline and tracking system to maintain timely records, forecast revenue, and achieve agreed-upon sponsorship goals.
  • Actively grow corporate sponsorships for special events, program funding, and banner sales; set and meet monthly outreach and solicitation goals.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team, in collaboration with the Director of Development, to ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits, including branding, recognition, and reporting return on investment and mission impact.
  • Coordinate and support opportunities for corporate partner employees to volunteer at Turnstone, ensuring seamless communication and follow-through.
  • Participate in special event planning and day-of execution to support excellent sponsor and guest experience.
  • In partnership with the Director of Development, implement creative stewardship strategies that express appreciation and strengthen long-term partner relationships, including data submission for personalized thank-you acknowledgements.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Turnstone at internal and external events, community presentations, and corporate partner engagements.
  • Conduct organizational tours and communicate mission impact to enhance corporate understanding and support.
  • Work closely with the Event Specialist on event recognition needs and offer support to ensure cohesive and high-quality event experiences.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and compliance requirements related to corporate sponsorship and cause-related marketing.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Development Team; collaborate to advance departmental goals aligned with Turnstone's mission and strategic plan.
  • Enhance donor stewardship by ensuring donors feel supported and valued, helping create positive experiences, and contributing to relationship-building efforts.
  • Assist with other duties and special assignments as requested.

Skills:

  • Excellent relationship-building and stewardship skills with sponsors, corporate partners, board members, volunteers, staff, and the public.
  • Strong persuasive communication and presentation skills to confidently solicit and secure sponsorships.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to manage a revenue pipeline and achieve sponsorship outcomes.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through to ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits and accurate record-keeping.
  • Proficiency with database systems and reporting to support data-driven engagement and stewardship.

Schedule

  • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
  • May have some schedule and work-from-home flexibility.
  • May need to work outside of typical working hours for events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related subject area and/or 3-5 years of work experience in fundraising and sponsorship.
