Public Relations Intern

As a Public Relations Intern on our External Communications Team, you will gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing communication strategies that drive media engagement for company initiatives. You will assist in creating compelling media pitches, supporting event coordination, and tracking media coverage across multiple outlets. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of public relations while contributing to real-world projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
About The Role
- Support the development of external communications plans for company-led initiatives, including development projects and corporate programs
- Assist in creating media pitches and narratives that align with the company's mission and vision
- Help conduct media outreach, build media lists and maintain communication with relevant local and national media contacts
- Draft talking points and statements under supervision of team members
- Staff events and media interviews with team guidance
- Collaborate across the organization to identify opportunities for communicating company initiatives effectively
- Research speaking engagement and award opportunities for company leaders
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms
- Enthusiasm for learning about public relations and media relations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or coursework in public relations, communications, or marketing
- Experience with media monitoring tools
- Knowledge of or interest in real estate, homeownership and technology
- Familiarity with creating content for various communication channels
