Job Summary: A Machinist will have strong metal working skills from a technical school or equivalent on-the-job experience. Education: • High School Diploma or GED. • Technical certifications or related training Essential Functions: • Ability to set up and run manual mills and lathes. • Understanding of correct feeds and speeds for cutting various types of materials. • Proficient at programming CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers (Mazak conversational experience preferred) continually striving to reduce machining times. • Proficient at setting up and running CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers using proper tooling. • Proficient at running CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers. • Able to run multiple machines simultaneously (CNC). • Able to use various measuring devices – calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc. to inspect finished parts. • Familiar with and keeping up to date with currently available tooling. • Knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of equipment both manual and CNC. • Must be responsible in the handling and care of equipment and tools. • Must be able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings and specifications • Will be required to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and co-workers at all times. • Will be required to perform general housekeeping as required. • Must be regular in attendance and able and willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime. • Must be willing to attend classes/training to improve basic skills and non-essential functions.Non-Essential Functions: • Able to operate overhead crane and drive forklift • Able to operate power tools, ie: band saw, shear, hydraulic press, hydraulic bender, drill press, table disk sander, etc. • Know proper size tips for brazing and soldering sticks • Knowledge of and ability to solder and braze. • Able to read and comprehend and mechanical drawings.Essential Physical Requirements: • Able to see, have good perception, and distinguish between colors. • Able to climb and stand for 8-10 hours per day. • Very coordinated (able to use both hands). • Dexterous, have good strength, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must have valid driver's license and able to drive an automobile. • Must be able to travel on short notice by public transportation including (i.e.: aircrafts, trains, bus, cars) domestically and internationally.Non-Essential Physical Requirements: • Must disclose any surgical implants, pins, braces or other devices that could be affected by induction fields. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
