Crescent Energy is seeking an experienced
Production Accounting Manager
to lead production data management, regulatory reporting, and system integration across our operated upstream assets in Texas and Utah. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of production data used for operations, marketing, and financial reporting.
The successful candidate will serve as the business owner for Merrick's ProCount and related production accounting workflows, lead the integration of newly acquired assets, and collaborate closely with Operations, Regulatory, and Finance teams to deliver seamless reporting and compliance across Crescent's diverse asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
ProCount System Leadership
Serve as the functional lead and primary business owner for Merrick's (P2) ProCount production accounting system, overseeing setup, configuration, user support, and monthly close processes.
- Ensure allocations, measurement balancing, and field data reconciliation are timely and accurate across all operating areas.
Partner with IT and vendors to optimize ProCount performance, manage upgrades, and enhance data connectivity with field and corporate systems.
Acquisition & Integration Management
Lead production accounting integrations for acquired and divested assets, ensuring seamless data migration, hierarchy alignment, and continuity in reporting.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Land, and Accounting to synchronize well structures, tank batteries, and ownership data.
Develop standard playbooks and checklists to support rapid and repeatable integration across Crescent's active M&A pipeline.
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) and Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining (UDOGM) reporting requirements, as well as applicable federal standards.
- Partner with Regulatory and Marketing teams to streamline reporting and reduce administrative burdens while maintaining compliance.
Stay ahead of evolving measurement and gas capture standards and coordinate internal updates as needed.
Operational & Digital Integration
- Oversee integrations with field-data systems to capture truck tickets, run tickets, and field measurements efficiently. Deliver analysis on overall production system.
- Maintain strong governance over master data and well hierarchies to ensure accuracy across asset transfers and monthly production cycles.
- Support Crescent's ongoing digital transformation by ensuring production data readiness for analytics, dashboards, and machine learning initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Engineering, Regulatory, Marketing, and Accounting teams to ensure consistent and transparent production data across the value chain.
- Act as a bridge between field measurement and corporate reporting, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to enhance gas capture, reduce downtime, and improve system-driven reporting efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of oil and gas production accounting or operations accounting experience, ideally with a multi-basin operator.
- 3+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role, including leading teams.
- Deep experience with Merrick's (P2) ProCount and background in SQL. Preference for experience with Wiserock a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated success integrating acquired assets and consolidating production accounting systems.
- Working knowledge of Texas RRC, Utah DOGM, and federal reporting regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a collaborative, system-driven mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading ProCount-to-ERP (Wiserock, Enertia, SAP) data integrations.
- Strong understanding of field measurement, allocations, and volumetric balancing.
- High proficiency in Excel, SQL, and production data visualization tools.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment focused on operational excellence, accountability, and performance.
