Lab Technician

QC Lab Technician Job Duties include but are not limited to experience with the following testing to establish quality control and / or quality assurance for manufactured product:

  • acid-base titrations
  • solid & moisture determinations
  • pH determination
  • fluid loss measurements
  • viscosity measurements
  • Communicate with production notifying them of test results
  • Build and maintain a basic understanding of company products and their chemistries
  • Execute laboratory tests with accuracy & precision
  • Use instruments and other lab test equipment to determine sample/test results
  • Use all required PPE (personal protective equipment) while in laboratories, abide by all safety rules and procedures, and work safely at all times
  • Ensure data is correct (double check) and record appropriately
  • Read, understand, and apply handling Cautions as stated in the lab's material Safety Data Sheets "SDS"
  • Work with production personnel to test their samples, producing accurate results and reporting them in a timely manner.
  • Work productively with other lab technicians and personnel
  • Perform test methods precisely as written and demonstrate great accuracy and precision
  • Stock sample preparation areas as well as test station cabinets, drawers, & shelves with labware and needed supplies for testing
  • After testing samples clean test station and lab equipment where needed restoring everything to its initial state of cleanliness and readiness.
  • Report any equipment, sample, and/or test issues or difficulties when running tests.
  • Monitor supply of lab expendables used for lab test work and notify purchasing when items are in short supply
  • Organize, manage, and disposition the QC lab sample retain areas in the QC labs.

QC Lab Technician Job Requirements:

  • Strong experience and knowledge in dealing with chemicals and their hazards
  • Possess good reading & comprehension skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team participation
  • Have a strong math background
  • Demonstrate good hand & eye coordination
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Must practice good housekeeping.
  • 2+ years lab experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related study
  • Have a good attitude about work, being fully charged, energetic, and ready to dive into work-related duties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
