Division of Child Life at Cincinnati Children's
is committed to the practice of family-centered care by promoting play, education, developmental and psychosocial support. We are an integral part of the health care team who can support the child's outpatient visit and inpatient stay. Child Life Specialists can minimize stress and maximize coping of patients and families.
At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, stand-by
Child Life Specialists
work throughout the entire medical center to provide essential psychosocial and procedural support to patients and their families when primary CCLS is on leave. PRN/Stand-by Child Life Specialists work a minimum of
160 hours every 8 weeks and may work up to 129 hours/month.
The Division of Child Life and Integrative Care utilizes a self-scheduling system for PRN/Stand-by Child Life Specialists to select the shifts they want to work.
This PRN/Stand-by position allows Child Life Specialists the opportunity to learn skills in multiple areas of child life practice including (but not limited to): Emergency Department, inpatient units, Same Day Surgery, and outpatient clinics at multiple campuses.
Qualifications
: To be considered, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field, and completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS. Must be certified as a Child Life Specialist within one year of hire. Candidates with past Child Life experience highly desired.
