Cloud Operations Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Innovative Systems has ongoing growth processing over 16 billion cloud transactions each year and continue to grow these volumes at rates in excess of 100%.

Because of this growth, we are expanding our U.S. cloud computing team. In this role, you will work with Innovative's global client base to integrate our cloud solutions. You will also be accountable for maintaining Innovative's high standards for data security and integrity as you maintain our servers in locations around the world.

Location: World headquarters, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with ability to work a flexible hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Deployment, Operations & Security

• Deploy and support Innovative's software products in Azure environments.
• Provision and configure Azure cloud resources to support Innovative's cloud offerings.
• Determine appropriate resource sizing and scaling patterns across cloud services.
• Maintain security standards and ensure compliance across the cloud environment.
• Remotely maintain servers supporting cloud services on a global basis.
• Monitor hardware, software, and database activity across Innovative's Azure nodes.
• Provide direct cloud support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Respond to and resolve issues in a timely manner, engaging other team members as appropriate.

SQL & Application Development

• Develop SQL Server scripts, stored procedures, and custom data-processing components.
• Develop specialized software programming to support custom user screens, processes, and data extracts.
• Build and maintain batch processes to ingest, transform, and process client data according to specifications.
• Develop, document, and execute processes to transform data into XML and/or flat-file formats.

Client Integration & Data Processing

• Integrate client systems and processes into ISI's hosted environment.
• Set up and manage client data transfer processes using FTP and other transfer protocols.
• Support web service integrations and configure customer-facing processes.
• Provide project support for client implementations and migrations.

Additional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Programming skills in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, or SQL.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database concepts (SQL Server preferred).
• Technical expertise with Windows OS.
• High intellectual curiosity and strong analytic/problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willing and able to participate in an occasional 24x7 on-call rotation.

IT'S A PLUS IF YOU HAVE

• Microsoft Azure or other cloud experience
• Experience with PowerShell or batch scripting
• Server-side testing experience with Web Services
• Prior successful experience in a customer / product support role
• Fluency with other languages
