Overview

Client is seeking
two experienced DevOps Engineers
to support the design, development, and deployment of a
cloud-based SaaS system
for the
Federal Government WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program
. This project aims to modernize service delivery through secure, scalable, and user-friendly technology solutions. The ideal candidates will bring a balance of
technical DevOps expertise
,
cloud architecture knowledge
, and an
understanding of user experience (UX)
principles.

You will play a key role in implementing automation, streamlining cloud infrastructure, and supporting UX-focused development to enhance system usability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain
    CI/CD pipelines
    for application development and deployment.
  • Manage and optimize
    cloud infrastructure
    (AWS/Azure/GCP) for a scalable SaaS platform.
  • Automate
    infrastructure provisioning
    using tools like
    Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
    .
  • Collaborate with UX and application teams to ensure deployments enhance user experience and performance.
  • Implement
    monitoring, logging, and alerting
    systems to ensure uptime, security, and performance.
  • Support
    DevSecOps best practices
    , ensuring compliance with federal cloud standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Assist in designing fault-tolerant and cost-optimized architectures for multi-tenant SaaS environments.
  • Participate in
    Agile/Scrum
    processes, providing technical updates and collaborating on sprint planning.
  • Learn and understand the
    WIC program's
    technology environment to tailor technical solutions to program needs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate solutions with development, UX, and infrastructure teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–10+ years
    of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    CI/CD tools
    (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).
  • Expertise with
    infrastructure-as-code
    tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Proficiency in
    scripting languages
    such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with
    containerization
    (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of
    networking, system administration
    , and
    security practices
    .
  • Proven experience working in
    Agile
    environments and collaborating with UX-focused development teams.
  • Excellent
    communication, documentation, and interpersonal
    skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and understand the
    WIC program
    and its end-user needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting
    federal or state-level government technology projects

  • Hands-on experience with
    AWS GovCloud

  • Familiarity with
