Assistant Meat Manager / Customer Service Team Leader

SALT Craft Meat Market in downtown Castle Rock, is a local craft butcher shop, offering high quality meats as well as grab & go seasonal specialties like pre-made meals and deli sandwiches. Salt, by nature, enhances flavor and brings out the best in food just as we strive to bring out the best in the people around us. We're looking for a full-time team member who loves helping meet customer needs and meat cutting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Above all, must be extremely detail-oriented, possess natural customer service skills, and be a good fit with our team

  • Prior knowledge of (or willingness to learn) different cuts of meat, farms & sources, product attributes, cooking techniques, etc. in order to answer customer questions

  • Assist customers with purchases, serve as their cashier

  • Manage deli meats – keep an inventory, handle all smoking of turkey & roast beef, and use deli slicer on a daily basis to assist with sandwich station prep

  • Assist Meat Manager and cut subprimals, trimming, and preparing steaks & other meat cuts

  • Assist Meat Manager and use grinder, mixer, and stuffer to make sausage, hamburger patties, ground meats, marinated meats, and other further processed items.

  • Smoking BBQ products and other cuts as needed

  • Assist with arranging & set up meat case and grab & go fridge

  • Help clean the store and kitchen every day, comply with food safety and sanitation procedures

  • General knowledgeable about maintenance of butcher shop equipment is preferred

  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of standing/walking for 8 hour shift.

  • Must be able to bend, twist, reach, squat, kneel, push and pull.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to handle knives and other cutting equipment.

Age Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Pay: $49, $55,000.00 per year
