WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone to join our Technician team. You must have a willingness to learn and a drive to succeed. In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn about satellite technology and become an integral part in supporting all our projects. Opportunity is here and we provide all of the training.
JOB DESCRIPTION
In-Home Service Technicians lead the charge in service, installation, and home automation solutions for our customers, both rural and urban. Each Technician receives extensive safety training as well as professional training for site surveys, installing equipment, and educating customers on our innovative satellite technology.
Microcom operates a Community Gateway for Starlink in addition to being a Regional Service Provider for DISH and a Home Service Provider for DirecTV. These partnerships mean that we are the exclusive service provider for any work directly created by either video provider in Alaska and Hawaii. What would I do?
- Plans installations by evaluating location; locating line of sight; laying out equipment and wiring plans connectivity options.·
- Establishes satellite system by installing dish; running and pulling cable; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.·
- Verifies system by testing equipment and connections; identifying and correcting problems.·
- Insures system signal meets minimum requirements.·
- Verification of service for either broadband and/or video depending on which is installed.
- Communicates with dispatch department to update job status within assigned timeframes.·
- Provides paperwork to document installation, service and repairs.
- Repairs service by listening to customer's description of the problems; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problems by replacing and/or upgrading components.·
- Communicate with customers and ensure that the customer thoroughly understands how to work the system.
What's required?
- Current valid driver's license and relatively clean driving record
- Willing to submit to background and pre-hire drug screen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- The job is entry level, but you must be willing to learn and have the drive to excel.
- Good work ethic without direct supervision

- Electrical, maintenance, or cable repair experience will help in cutting training time
- Likes working with customers
- Works well in a team setting and can communicate with others
