  • PDP is hiring a Lead project planner to lead and manage a team of planners with responsibility for delivering a large scale CAPEX project in the BioPharma Industry
  • This person shall be report to the Project controls manager. The Lead Planner, in conjunction with the planning teams, have a primary objective to support the engineering, procurement, construction and Commissioning (EPCmV) group in the planning, and execution of large scale CAPEX projects by providing management with critical, decision-making information that ensures projects deliver on time.
  • The Project Planner function includes advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis that may involve a major project or several smaller projects. A thorough understanding is required of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and Scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives. The Planner will provide expertise and best practice implementation in the work place for the region with regard to the planning and scheduling discipline.
  • The Project Planning Lead will provide expertise to the client project team to: 1) ensure adequate definition of scope within the integrated schedule; 2) establish reasonable baselines; 3) identify and manage risk; and 4) track, monitor, and report project performance.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Expertise in project controls and time/schedule management is required preferably within the Pharma/ Biotech or associated sectors.
  • Expert experience level using project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to coordinate/organize multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.
  • Implement Project Planning/Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Company and contractor roles, responsibilities and expectations.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Perform probabilistic analysis on integrated schedules and contractor schedules.
  • Conduct the required project schedule analysis, critical path analysis and schedule risk analysis for the project as a whole.
  • Analyze deviations from the baseline in the Project Master schedule highlighting bottlenecks / delays and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare the Integrated Planning / Scheduling contribution to the Monthly Project Report and specific reports / presentations.
  • Analyze and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance / change order.
  • Prepare resourcing plans for the overall and individual project phases, identifying any excessive peak numbers and making recommendations for peak levelling.
  • Ensure that schedule related data from vendors, suppliers, engineering and construction contractors is aligned and integrated to the overall Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced, maintaining independence as a planning engineer when advising on issues requiring judgment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects executed in multiple locations and by multiple contractors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Develops good working relationships with project team
  • Other work as needed in support of successful project delivery.

Education and Experience

  • 10 years of experience in CAPEX projects with roles in planning/scheduling: preferably in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Significant experience in schedule set up, baselining , monitoring and controlling on large scale projects across all phases of EPCmV.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk and change management.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment.
  • Advanced MS Excel.
  • Software systems and packages including Primavera P6
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Qualified applicants must be able to work on-site; no remote/hybrid arrangement.
