Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Master Scheduler who is responsible for coordinating, planning, scheduling, and overseeing products throughout their production process or cycle. The Master Scheduler is responsible for the development and maintenance of an integrated master plan/schedule for systems proposals, programs, and integration projects. The Master Scheduler will manage the production schedule ensuring the manufacturing capacity meet and exceeds customer expectations while maintaining minimum acceptable inventory levels and timely delivery of products. This position is on-site at our Indianapolis, IN location. Not a remote role.
This position will be responsible for providing the company with a monthly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast. The Master Scheduler plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows advising manufacturing on the necessary prioritization within the schedule supporting changing demands. This position partners with site leadership to ensure site capacity and equipment utilization is managed in accordance to industry standards, achieving efficiency, quality, and on-time completion.
In addition, this position's responsibilities will include getting weekly schedule status to monitor actual vs planned results, identifying schedule-related risks/issues and tracking progress against mitigation plan, assisting with the integration of activities and ensuring congruent flow toward expected result, preparing schedule reports/metrics and presenting to senior management, tracking contract deliverables within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and IMP, validating progress to meet contract requirements. Preferred proficiencies in software such as Microsoft Excel & Project as well as MRP/ERP experience.

Job Accountabilities:
Creates and manages the integrated master schedule to meet program objectives.Execute production schedule to achieve on time delivery and maximize efficiency and profitability.Evaluate production data to optimize profits; includes TAC time, direct and indirect resource times, time between operations, etc.Notify Project Managers and Leadership team of any production delays as soon as you are made aware that the scheduled delivery may be in jeopardy.Communicate with manufacturing, engineering, material planning, shipping, and sales on needs, deliverables, and constraints.Generate task reports and Gantt charts for internal use and customer use in MS Project.Monitor dates in the system and work with the Program Management team to update as necessary.Compare estimated hours and actual hours upon completion of a job for future accuracy.Utilize ERP software for operations and material review.Set up and edit resources, capabilities, shifts, and other variables that impact scheduling accuracy.Prioritize and manage materials to prevent unused expired materials.Make schedule adjustments to meet changing deadlines and communicate all adjustments to relevant departments.Educate other departments of how their workload affects the ERP system and the master schedule.Maintain accurate completion dates of all jobs scheduled.Provide relevant data to managers using dashboards and other data tools.Provide "what if" feedback to Customer Service Manager, Engineering, Project Managers and Production Manager as requested.Maintains various reporting systems for ensuring that documentation is accurate and timely.Creates production schedules daily and ensures that output is recorded into the correct system.Communicates demand information across a facility so that everyone is aware of volume and metrics.Documents key information for analysis which includes downtime, peak production, inventory accuracy and scheduling accuracy.Plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows.Collaborate with management in coordinating employees' work schedules, established and/or adjust hours of work as needed to meet business needs.Participates in meetings and collaborates with other team members to ensure goals and objectives are met timely.Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.Utilizes ERP system to access production schedules, work orders, material quantities, and other relevant information. Proactively monitors production schedules and takes necessary action(s) to prevent delays as a result of; design changes, labor or material shortages, backlog, or other interruptions that may impact delivery dates.Confers with management and other personnel to assess progress of production and discuss needed changes.Confers with site personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government.Inform management of personnel, equipment, or material shortages as appropriate. Apply and assist others on the material management processes that support work order release, inventory transactions, SIOP process, finished goods inventory controls, and intercompany transactions to move finished goods region to region.Other responsibilities as assigned.Job Specifications:
Education: Associate Degree or High School Diploma/GED, plus two (2) years relevant working experience, vocational training apprenticeships and/or appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirement only.
Years' Experience: Requires five (5) years experience as a Master Scheduler in an Aerospace manufacturing environment with SIOP background (sales inventory and operations planning).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Project, Access, and PowerPoint
- Extensive experience in inventory control, production, manufacturing, and scheduling required.
- Requires extensive experience in aerospace program planning.
- Requires extensive background and experience managing complex schedules.
- Extensive production, plant, and process knowledge required.
- Working knowledge of ERP & MRP skills required.
- Requires DCMA Schedule Metrics/Data-Driven Metrics Knowledge and Schedule Risk Analysis SRA experience.
- Experience with Demand vs. Capacity planning analysis is critical.
- Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement tools required.
- Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles/process.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication, presentation and facilitator skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization exercising sensitivity to the audience.
- Possesses excellent judgement, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
